Australians have a preference for Aussie made products

When COVID disrupted global supply chains, manufacturing workers kept Australia going, producing food, ventilators and PPE.

Support Aussie Made

Australia should make more of what we need, here at home.

That means making sure government projects prioritise local content, so we build more trains, ships, defence equipment and building materials here in Australia. It means investing in the industries of the future, from mineral processing and renewable energy to batteries and research and development.

The hands that build Australia need investment too. We need to invest in workers and equip them with the skills to build our future, through TAFE courses, more apprenticeships and quality training that prepares them for the jobs of tomorrow.

Just creating jobs isn’t enough. They need to be good, secure, well-paid union jobs that give workers and their families a fair go. That’s what the Support Aussie Made campaign is fighting for: a stronger Australian manufacturing industry, more local jobs and a future built here.

We need to support Aussie made and support local jobs.

Our campaigns have put manufacturing back on the national agenda. It’s time to bring our industries back, make more here and create good Australian jobs. Join more than 60,000 AMWU members to turn promises into secure, union jobs.

We’re the union delivering real results for workers.

What we’re fighting for

Our campaigns are building a stronger manufacturing industry and securing more work for Australian workers.
